Death Of A Stereotype.

18 year old VIRGIN. And Yes. That is in EVERY sense of the word. An old soul. Cursed and blessed with my fathers mind, so I’ve never been taken advantage of. Or played or tricked or pimped or turned out or any of those cheap reasons my generation has SOLD OUT.

I refuse to have my worth compared to that of a nickel. Picked up and flipped by a little ass boy, who’s only motive was getting some head or my tail.

I constantly find myself trying to evade from these stereotypical black women with whom I’ve been raised.

“The Desperate Housewife” anxiously lead into the dark. Looking for love in a place even GOD is hesitant to bless with his presence.

“The Teenage Mother” who might as well smother her life in her A Cup buzz-om that her bastard child feeds off of.

or last but not least “The Dreamer” stoned off a drug of complacency and mindless behavior. Stuck dwelling on the fucked up life that everyone BUT HERSELF has gave her.

I CANT. I JUST CANT! I will not pledge allegiance to these lost souls just because that is the only example i see. I posses the same flesh as the most high, so the only prototype i intend to follow is ME. My name will not become synonymous with women who have fell victim to life’s false promises.

I do not blame her. Nor do i judge her. I just pray that these words of mine can at least touch her, heart. Feed her mind, heal her body from the bruises caused by hands or by words that has this BEAUTIFUL BLACK QUEEN underestimating her worth.

KNOW. YOUR. VALUE! or at the very LEAST come to the realization that you are black and PROMISING. And even though your potential is something embryonic and inchoate in YOUR eyes, Know it was something I acknowledged the very first moment you spoke to me your name.

I may not know ALL. But what I do appercieve, i TEACH. So if your lost in societies dark tunnel, I’ll be the light that you seek. Take my hand as our spirits become ONE WITH OUR GOD and led to the prosperous life we dream. Together we’ll become more than just another black entity. YOU and I WILL BE THE DEATH OF A STEREOTYPE.
